Pallacanestro Olimpia EA7 Emporio Armani Milano agreed in terms with Robbie Hummel, 26, coming from the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves.

WHO’S HUMMEL – Born on March 8, 1989, in Valparaiso, Indiana, 2.03 mt tall, Robbie Hummel is a forward who played for Valparaiso High School. During his senior year he averaged 15.7 points per game, while adding 7.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists. In 2007 he enrolled to the Purdue University where at the end of his first season was included in the Big Ten Conference first team and led the conference in three-point shooting (44.7%). In the process he set the school record in free-throw shooting (86.5%, the previous mark belonged to Kyle Macy) by a first-year player. In 2008/09 in spite of some injuries, Hummel was All-Big 10 third team and was named Big 10 Tournament’s Mvp which Purdue won for the first time in its history. In his third year at Purdue he was again All-Big 10 first team after averaging 15.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.During that season, he set his career high with 35 points, the school record for most threes made in one game with 8 and for most free throws made in a row with 36. But on February 24, 2010, he torn his ACL (right knee) and was forced to close the season early. The injury kept him out of competition for the following season while he kept his colege eligibility. In 2011/12 he was back, completing a season where he averaged 16.2 points per game and 7.2 rebounds, while leading Purdue to the NCAA Tournament. In the tourney Purdue was eliminated in the third round by Kansas in spite of a 26-point, 9-rebund game by Hummel. He was named in the All-Big 10 first team for the third time. In the 2012 NBA draft he was selected by Minnesta in the second round with the number 58. His first professional season was sent in Spain playing for Obradoiro. The last two season he played for the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves. During the last season he averaged 4.4 points per game with 3.0 rebounds and made 45.9% of his field goal attempts. As a rookie he had an amazing 93.8% from the line

NOTES – In 2009/10 while at Purdue he made 90.2% of hif free-throw attempts, the second best season ever in the Boilermakers history… He was the first Purdue player to make the All-Big 10 first team three times since 1970 (Rick Mount)… In 2009 he won the bronze medal at the World University Games in Belgrade… While at Obradoiro in Spain he averaged 10.1 points per game (89.0% from the line, 42.0% from three-point range).
