Olimpia after leading most of the game realized that the game could have been lost when Capo d’Orlando took a five and four-point lead late in the fourth. That’s when Olimpia refused to lose, came back strong and won 68-62. Jordan Theodore did a great job at the end setting the tempo, driving and making crucial free throws. He had six assists and four steals to go with his 15 points. Micov and Goudelock scored critical baskets in the fourth and Gudaitis completed another strong game scoring in double digit again. “I like the mentality I see among my players – Coach Pianigiani said after the game – Defensively we have been tough one more time. When you allowed 62 points you are supposed to win even with the tank empty after a long trip to and from Moscow. We weren’t fresh and so we lacked fluidity and missed shots we normally make. But other than that we are doing well. Tonight we didn’t control the rebounds well enough and once more after building a lead we let rhem come back. But we are atvthe early stage and I like what I see”.
