Massimo Cancellieri came to Milano after four years as a head coach, three in the Italian top league, in Biella. He won the championship in his first try. In the 2015/16 season, as Jasmin Repesa's assistant, he also won tha Italy Cup.
HIS CAREER - Born in Teramo, in July 24, 1972, Cancellieri began to coach in Roma with the San Raffaele women's team. He coached the youth teams and served as an assistant coach for the top team. In 1999 he became head coach at San Raffaele when the team was participating to the A2 league. In 2000 he was back in Teramo to serve as Franco Gramenzi's assistant: they conquered two promotions from the B league to the Serie A. In 2003 he moved to Montecatini to be Marco Calvani's top assistant. One year later he was promoted to the top spot and made the Legadue's playoffs. In 2006 he was named assistant coach to Luca Bechi in Biella. He stayed three years, went to Veroli (Legadue) as head coach and after one season he moved back to Biella to run the team for three more seasons.
NOTES – Cancellieri was on Biella's bench in the 2008/09 season when the team obtained the best result in its history making it to the semifinals. There it was beaten 3-1 by Olimpia...
