Livio Proli has been Olimpia Milano's president for six seasons. During his reign the team has won the championship in 2014, reached the Italian League finals three more times and three times it qualified for the Euroleague Top 16. In 2014 Olimpia reached the Euroleague playoffs. Under his watch, Olimpia obtained a Euroleague A-license. Livio Proli was named "Executive of The Year" for 2013/14 season. He returned at the helm in the summer of 2015 after a year off and promptly won his forst Italy Cup.
HIS CAREER - The Mondovì-born Livio Proli worked for several companies including Vestimenta in Trento and Reporter in Ancona, he also opened a chain of retail stores in Austria, through his own Plad Gmbh company. For more than four years, he worked for RTL 102.5 radio station and was CEO and general manager of the Simint SpA in Modena, a "Giorgio Armani SpA" company where he stayed until 2009 handling the Armani Jeans and Armani Junior brands. The former brand was chosen to be Olimpia's main sponsor in 2004, when Mister Giorgio Armani made his entry into the club as sponsor. In that year, Proli became member of the club's board. In 2008 he handled "Giorgio Armani SpA" effort to take total control of the team. He also became team's president. He was named "Giorgio Armani Spa" general manager on the first day of January 2010.
NOTES - With Livio Proli's leadership, Olimpia besides obtaining a Euroleague A-license, was twice chosen to be part of the NBA European tour. In 2010 the New York Knicks visited Milano and in 2012 it was the Boston Celtics turn. Under his watch, the youth teams system was revitalized and has already produced an Under 15 national championship in 2011, an Under 17 championship in 2013 and Under 14 in 2014. The Armani Junior Program also gathers more than 70 clubs under the same wing. Proli was also the executive who brought back Danilo Gallinari in Milano in 2011 and launched the former general manager Gianluca Pascucci to the NBA's Houston Rockets.
