For its EuroLeague home debut Olimpia will face the defending champions from Fenerbahce. The Turkish powerhouse is coming from two losses, in their EuroLeague first round in Malaga and then in their domestic league debut against Efes. Still, Fenerbahce won the President Cup and have a roster full of great additions like Brad Wanamaker, Jason Thompson, Nicolò Melli, Sinan Guler and Marko Guduric. They were all signed to make up for the losses of Ekpe Udoh and Bogdan Bogdanovic.

“The difficulty level is sky-high – Coach Simone Pianigiani said -, not just because they are great but because they are coming from two losses and those kind of teams are a lot more dangerous under these circumstances. They will respond very hard thanks of the many mentally strong players they have, guys that made them the EuroLeague winners last May. I mean Datome, Vesely, Sloukas, Nunnally on top of their coach. They won’t come to Milan just to win, that’s obvious, they will come to play a statement game. That’s the first obstacle to overcome. Malaga beat them last week but at home it scored under 70 points. We will face a defensive wall, and that’s the second obstacle”.

Here comes the game-plan: “We’ll have to go beyond our intensity limits, we are not going to be so fluid like we have been in Moscow and we’ll have to accept to play a high-energy game struggling from the beginning. Since our goals are not limited to one single game, whatever happens we’ll try to come out improved”. Olimpia-Fenerbahce Game Notes EuroLeague
