Olimpia’s defense put on a show in Trento holding the opponent to 31 points after the first quarter and closing out with a commanding 74-55 win. Olimpia first established its defense then took control of the boards and got away. Jordan Theodore scored 18 points 14 of which came after halftime, Andrew Goudelock had 16 points but it definitely was a team effort with Cinciarini, Abass, Cusin and Gudaitis doing a great job in terms of providing energy and defense. “We responded – Coach Simone Pianigiani said – not with nerves but with a very solid game. Trento rolled over Ulm changing line-up using four shooters and Sutton at the 5, they pose match-up problems but we figured out what to do best. Defensively we did an outstanding job after being frustrated in the first by a couple of bank threes otherwise we could have taken control earlier”.
