Olimpia tried to comeback in the fourth quarter after losing control of the game early in the second period, but couldn’t finish the job and lost 78-64 in the Munich’s EuroLeague opener. Amedeo Della Valle scored eight points in the final quarter and led the rally from 11 down to 2 and the possession to tie the game with plenty of time remaining. But Bayern answered one more time and got away for good. Olimpia didn’t have enough consistency offensively to win the game and was plagued by a 4-for-22 night from three. “You cannot expect to win a EuroLeague game on the road if you are not tough mentally for 40 minutes. Our offense had too many ups and downs, the defensive effort was there, but obviously we need to know each other better. We made some mistakes especially late on some possessions”,  Coach Messina said at the end. Luis Scola in his first EuroLeague start since 2007 has a 17-point effort over 26 minutes of playing time. “Certainly, he was a point of reference for us tonight, but we expect a lot from him. He has to help the team being in the right position,” Coach Messina said closing his post- game comment.
