Olimpia hit the ground running and never let go in game 1, dominating 105-73 over Cantù. The first period was a display of strength with 31 points scored and 11 assists. Then when Cantù tried to comeback in the second period (getting within six) and again in the third, Olimpia responded accordingly with different guys capable to step up. Olimpia moved the ball, shot well, controlled the board and accumulated 21 assists. Goudelock led all the scorers with 17 but it was really a team effort. “Game 1 was good, we set the tempo, we had the right intensity with just a couple of moments when we made some silly mistakes but overall it was a very good game. Still, he doesn’t mean anything because during the playoffs anything can change in a matter of hours. So it’s time to recover, forget about this game and reset the minds”, Coach Pianigiani said at the end after mentioning the great spectacle offered by the fans. “There were a lot of people for a quarterfinals’s game. It was great: when we strugglend a little, they gave us confidence and energy”.
