With five  players scoring in double figure, a total game by Mike James (8 assists, 4 steals) and a dominating Kaleb Tarczewski (15 points, a career-high 15 rebounds in 23 minutes), Olimpia won 85-79 over Avellino. It was a game controlled right from the beginning, because of a 13-0 start, that was plagued only by a mediocre second quarter when Avellino scored 29 points and turned a eight-point deficit into a three-point halftime lead. “That’s where we need to improve – Coach Simone Pianigiani said at the end -, we need people ready to perform, make open shots and keep a lead, but overall I like thet way we competed, the spirit”. The margin was small at the end because Olimpia uncharacteristically missed 10 free throws with the regularly lethal Mike James missing two couples entirely. Curtis Jerrells had a commanding 17-point, 5-assist outing, James Nunnally added 16 against his former team, Jeff Brooks gave everything at the defensive end of the court, wile Mindaugas Kuzminskas was crucial offensively. Now Olimpia is one win away (or one Cremona loss away) from clinching the regular season top spot.
