Olimpia struggled a little bit to find its groove against Pistoia but finally took the game over and turned a 4-point early fourth quarter lead into a commanding 24-point win, 107-83. Pistoia came to Milan determined, played a great first period, led by as many as seven points in the second and forced Olimpia to play its game in spite of splitting minutes among most of the players. Bertans played only in the second half, Jerrells only in the first, Micov and Gudaitis didn’t play at all. Kuzminskas scored 20 points in 17 minutes, Simone Fontecchio also had a great finish scoring nine fourth quarter points. “We played another serious game, when they came within 4 again in the fourth we were forced to test ourselves again. I’m happy because the players that we needed after the EuroLeague games responded. We desperately need Burns in the Italian league, Fontecchio played well in the first earning himself the right to stay on the court when we had to win the game again in the fourth and he was ready to score, too”, Coach Pianigiani said.
