Olimpia responded. After three losses between Euroleague and the Italian League had a terrific all-around game against Venezia, a top-quality Italian opponent. Alessandro Gentile took control with a dominating first-half. He scored 17 of his 19 points and led Olimpia to a 15-point first-half lead. Coach Repesa was pleased with Olimpia’s game “because finally we scored some easy basket on the break, we controlled the boards and that was probably the difference maker in the game and in the end we were consistent troughout the game. The most consistent we have been all season”. Olimpia scored 28 points in the first period then the defense improved holding Venezia to 10 second quarter points. The rest was a promosing effort. Gentile was sustained by a great game by Robbie Hummel, who had 19 points and 9 rebounds, while five players scored in double figure. 87-65 was the final score.
