It was a tough, physical, make-no-prisoners battle against Trento, the most atypical team in the Italian league with different type of lineups and a style predicated on being aggressive, looking for contacts, steals and offensive rebounds. Olimpia responded. Hit by hit. And finally in the secon half took over. Trento was able to respond once in the first half and once more in the third quarter tying the game up at 61. But when Olimpia got away a third time, the game was pretty much over. Vlado Micov had a sensational 28-point effort, setting his new career-high, Andrea Cinciarini’s game was basically perfect. Curtis Jerrells and Andrew Goudelock took turns at being clutch. Goudelock’s step-back three with 30 seconds remaining closed the game for good. The final score was 88-80. Arturas Gudaitis made four block in the process taking adavntage of his length.

“It was a physical game against a team who’s doing well with many of the players that went very close to the championship last year. We made the right choices offensively, the defense was good througout the game and we deserved to win. I’m a little bit disappointed only because too many unforced turnovers and sometimes we closed well defensively and then we didn’t finish the possession by rebounding the ball. But overall it was a good game entering into another tough week”, Coach Simone Pianigiani said after the game mentioning the two EuroLeague games scheduled for the three days followed by another tough road game in Avellino.
