Giorgio Tesi Group Pistoia will be Olimpia’s first opponent in the quarterfinals. The team from Tuscany won the “do-or-die” game against Caserta and qualified for the post-season. Game 1 will take place on Monday, 19th, in the Mediolanum Forum. Two day later there’s going to be Game 2 in the same arena. Game 3 will take place in Pistoia on Friday 23rd.

Olimpia won the Italian league regular season for the fifth time in its history, the first since 1991. It closed the season riding a 19-game winning streak, still open (the club’s record is 26 in a single season). It was also the longest winning streak in Italy since 2001/02. EA7 also won all the home games (15-0 like in 1990/91) and stayed unbeaten in the season second half. In the last round, it won convincingly in Siena 85-74 marking the fourth consecutive win over Siena in the regular season.
