It wasn’t a win but it was a good game for both teams and a solid show that people appreciated a lot. Maccabi won 85-79 after a dominating first period. Olimpia, down by 18, was good enough to come back in a spectacular second quarter (29-17) and took the lead in the third. When it was ready to get away, a 8-0 run allowed Maccabi to regain control. In the end Maccabi was a little bit better but with no Oliver Lafayette, Coach Jasmin Repesa distribute the minutes, saved the energy and was rewarded with a good game. Andrea Amato who played 16 minutes, had 4 assists, Alessandro Gentile looked unstoppable in spurts (he led the team in points, 16, rebounds, 6 and assists, 5) and played less than 26 minutes. Robbie Hummel was the man when Olimpia refused to go down and was led back into the game by him (he was 3/3 from three and finished with 15 points). People liked the show and the game was uptempo and very interesting.
