Pallacanestro Olimpia EA7 – Emporio Armani agreed on a one-year contract with MarShon Brooks, 25, guard, 1.95, coming from the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA.
WHO IS BROOKS – MarShon Brooks was born on January 26, 1989 in Long Branch, New Jersey, where he stayed until he was six and moved to Georgia with his family. He attended the Tucker High School and then the Providence College. After two years of lacking playing time, he averaged 14.2 points per game as a junior, while setting a season-best of 25 against South Florida. In 2010/11 he averaged 24.6 points per game, led the Big East Conference in scoring and had 52 points in one single game, versus Notre Dame, on February 23, 2011, when he went 20/28 from the field. His 52 points tied the Providence record and set the new Big East record. Brooks had 35 in the second half only and 15 in the last 2’57”. He had 43 points against Georgetown too. His 468 points in Big East competition were the All-Time best and his 1629 put him in ninth place in the Providence All-Time scoring chart. He was named in the NCAA’s third team. In the 2011 NBA draft he was selected with the number 25 by the Boston Celtics and traded immediately to the Brooklyn Nets. In 56 games he averaged 12.6 points per game and was named in the All-Rookie second team, playing also in the All-Star Rookie Game. In 2012/13 he set his career-high scoring 27 points against Cleveland. In the month of July 2013 he was included in the big trade that sent Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to the Nets, so he went back to Boston. Early in 2014 he played for Maine in the D-League, then was traded to Golden State and again had an appearance with Santa Cruz in the D-League before moving for good to the Los Angeles Lakers.
NOTES – He has played 164 NBA games with 49 starts, 17.5 minutes per game, 7.7 points and 1.4 assists on average… He played for the Sacramento Kings’ summer league team in 2014…
