After a five-game winning streak, Olimpia lost in the Italian League 85-83. Torino deserved the win while Olimpia played with too many ups and downs, couldn’t sustain the effort mentally and in the end was unable to make any stops defensively. After Andre Dawkins made a huge three and Alessandro Gentile tied it up with a step-back three-pointer, Dejan Ivanov decided the game making two free throws. “We are experiencing some difficult times, that I expected but not to this extent – Coach Jasmin Repesa said after the game – we need to play better, stay on the court better and show a better team spirit. We used too many energy talking to the refs, talking to each other. It’s time to talk among ourselves but we need to avoid gut reactions, panic reactions. This is what the good teams do: I feel guilty towards the club and the fans. They all deserve better than this. But we want to respond with poise because this is the only way to get out of this. And it’s not going to be easy”.
