It wasn’t the real Olimpia Milan team. It was half of it but enough to beat Turin 96-77. To be honest, the opponents were missing many key players including three starters (Tyshawn Taylor, Jamil Wilson, James McAdoo, and also Marco Cusin), but the rest of Olimpia did a great job, running the floor, hitting the open man and keeping the tempo high. Dairis Bertans was on fire, Amedeo Della Valle created a lot in the second unit, scoring 11 points in the second quarter keeping the lead for Milan. Mike James added eight assists to his 15 points. Simone Fontecchio was outstanding playing as nominal power forward in the starting line-up, he touched a lot of balls, deflecting passes and scoring 16 points. Olimpia led wire-to-wire with the only exception of one possession late in the first when Carlos Delfino hit two straight threes putting his team momentarily up. Other than that, Olimpia dominating the game, even when most of the alternates were on the court (Antabia Waller made four threes, by the way). Everything was good, in Lucca, waiting for the final to be played on Saturday night at 9.15 against Venice, winner of the second semifinal 79-74 over Pistoia.
