A promising start, defensively and then also offensively, produced a 7-point lead early in the second quarter, but it wasn’t enough. Olimpia in Piraeus lost aggressiveness and control of the game early in the third, was capable to get within seven again but finally made too many shooting mistakes – not all of them forced by Olympiacos’ defense – and the defensive intensity went down. Olympiacos in the end was very good at killing the game, finding its rhytm offensively with many different players. It was a punitive, exagerrated, loss by 23 , the second in a row in the Top 16. Next up it’s Malaga’s game, next Friday.
