For 33 minutes it was a game close to perfection. Olimpia dominated it every ways. Offensively the execution was sharp, defensively it struggled only to contain Tornike Shengelia post-up game and his ability to draw fouls. But after a first half marred by only three turnovers Olimpia was even better in the third quarter, never raise the foot off the pedal and built an astonishing 25 point commanding lead. Then Baskonia responded and Olimpia panicked a little bit let the margin be reduced to 5 points before closing the deal with a 92-85 not so close win over a team coming off six wins in seven games. Olimpia had a lot by everybody and made Coach Pianigiani happy about the team collective effort. “There were no reasons to panic because we never lost control and it was predictable that Baskonia was not going down without a fight. But I think for 33 minutes we had an outstanding game” Coach Pianigiani said at the end.
