Olimpia closed Capo d’Orlando out in game 4 of the Italian league quarterfinals with a commanding 77-62 win. Olimpia led right from the beginnings and never looked back. The lead exploded at 22 points in the third quarter after a Kruno Simon’s three-pointer. Capo d’Orlando tried to comeback in the third, reducing the margin to 11 and again early in the fourt after a 8-0 run cut the gap to eight points. Olimpia regrouped and finished the game well. Olimpia had its best defensive game of the series and and excellent first half offensively. It scored 45 points killing Orlandina inside with Raduljica’s size and sharp passes, Pascolo’s cut and Macvan hot shooting. A couple of lapses obligated Olimpia to bend the legs again when the game looked over in the second half, but Capo d’Orlando was never threatening. “I told to my players that it’s too bad we needed to win the game two or three times when in fact we led by 22 and the outcome should have been decided by then. Still, it wasn’t easy to close the series on the road winning here twice in three days in a very complicated climate. Now it’s time to prepare for Trento: they are in great shape, they are very physical and have a lot of athleticism. We need to fix a couple of things. At this time scoring easy baskets will be crucial because we know eaach other very well and transition scores or offensive rebounds will be decisive”, Coach Jasmin Repesa said at the end.
