It was a loss against a very motivated opponent, a powerhouse like CSKA Moscow who was playing for closing the Top 16 in the top spot. But Olimpia had the strength to compete through the end, coming back from 23 down to within eight before losing 88-79. EA7 played for its pride and after struggling against the physicality and toughness of CSKA, beginning the game with special agent andre Kirilenko over the Rising Star candidate Alessandro Gentile, had the guts to play its heart out in the second half. Alessandro Gentile was the first to mentally enter the game in the first half, Samardo Samuels had a terrific second half scoring 18 points, and MarShon Brooks had some great plays in the second half. It wasn’t enough especially against the Kieilenko’s long arms and Sasha Kaun strength in the middle. Vorontsevich was clutch from three. CSKA won convincingly and finished the Top 16 in first place. Olimpia’s Euroleague is over but the team was capable to get to the top 16 and to improve during the course of the competition.
