Curtis Jerrells and Andrew Goudelock combined for 52 points, took turns at attacking Trento’s defense and were instrumental in the Olimpia’s 90-80 win in the Italian league finals. Olimpia now leads the series 2-0. Game 3 in the best-of-seven series will take place on Monday in Trento. Jerrells had a dominating first half, scoring 21 points with five threes. Trento approached the game seriously, its shooting percentages were sky-high (Ojars Silins had 10 first-period points) and led by as many as seven points. Olimpia was hot too. Led by Jerrells and seven early points by Goudelock, came back within two after an unreal first quarter. But in the second, Trento after building a 7-point lead once more cooled down a little, while Olimpia stayed on fire. All of a sudden, with a couple of Gudaitis baskets in the lane, Milan took the lead and expanded it to 11, before going into halftime with a 57-47 lead. The margin pretty much stayed the same throughout the second half. When Trento late in the game came within three on a long-range jumper by Joao Gomes, Olimpia responded with a 6-0 run. Jerrells once more scored on driving lay-up, Arturas Gudaitis converted two fouls shots and Vlado Micov made his customary fade-away from the corner. After that Olimpia controlled the outcome.
