Andrew Goudelock scored 14 of his game-high 20 points in the last four minutes of the game leading Olimpia to a 80-74 win in Brescia. Now Milan leads the series two games to one. Game 4 is scheduled for Wedsneday night in Brescia. It was a battle that Olimpia tried to take over a couple of times, late in the second period and again in the third when the margin exploded to 10 points. When the offense went ice-cold and turnovers plagued the team, defense kept Olimpia in the game. And finally after Vlado Micov (17) and Arturas Gudaitis (11 all in the second half) in spite of foul troubles carried the load offensively, Goudelock wore his Mamba clothes and closed the game with three back-breaking threes, the first one made after stealing a ball at the defensive end of the court. “We anticipated their assault early in the game – Coach Pianigiani said – and then we were able to play our game with poise. We never got nervous even when shots were not going in. Defense was good. Goudelock had an outstanding defensive game and when spacing was perfect late in the game he was able to make his shots”. Olimpia has the chance to close off the series in Brescia. “We need to try, we said many times how important winning on the road is in the playoffs. And we delivered tonight but they are not going to give up. Brescia is new at this level as an organization but its players are very experienced, used to win and they don’t give up”, Pianigiani said.
