Olimpia upset Khimki 86-77 in Moscow in what probably amounted to be one of its best outing of the year. Olimpia basically led wire to wire, trailing by never more than two points and leading with a biggest margin of 13 points early in the third when Vlado Micov made a three signaling his 13th straight game with at least one made bomb. Khimki used a 11-0 run in the third to take the lead but only momentarily. The fourth quarter was a masterpiece especially during the stretch at both ends of the floor. Andrew Goudelock led all the scorers with a season-high 26 points while Curtis Jerrells scored 14 including some clutch baskets. Vlado Micov had a game of monumental effort grabbing a season-high 8 rebounds but overall Olimpia received a lot by everybody. Andrea Cinciarini had a serious game with seven points, four rebounds and five assists while making zero shooting errors. “They made runs and we stayed together”, Andrew Goudelock said. “It was a solid game that we deserved to win. We dictated the tempo and down the stretch some defenses were really good. They came back many times but mentally we stayed in the game”, Coach Pianigiani said after the game.
