Olimpia Milano has reached an agreement until the end of the season with the 1.80 mt-tall point guard Keifer Sykes, coming from the Guangzhou Loong Lions of the Chinese league, where he was averaging 28.2 points and 6.1 assists per game.

“I am happy and excited – says Keifer Sykes – At this point in my young career all I want is to win a championship in Europe and continue to improve and develop my game around great coaches and great players. I’m blessed by the timing of this opportunity and will do everything I will be asked to play at a high level and help the team improve its already successful positions in the standings, both in the EuroLeague and the Italian league.” He will wear the jersey number 28.

“Keifer Sykes is a young and energetic player, who’s still improving and is very motivated by the desire to play in Milan and be part of our family,” says general manager Christos Stavropoulos.

WHO IS SYKES – Born in Chicago on December 30th, 1993, Sykes attended Marshall High School and then the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay for four years. In his last two seasons, he has been named Horizon League player of the year. In the last three he was included in the All-Horizon first team. In the 2015/16 season he played for the Austin Spurs of the G-League after spending the preseason with the San Antonio Spurs. The following season he played in South Korea in Anyang and then in the second Turkish League, in Ankara, where he averaged 22.1 points per game. He was in Avellino during the last season where he led the team to the playoffs while scoring 17.2 points per game and averaging 4.1 assists. In BCL he scored 14.3 points per game with 4.3 assists and a personal best of 43 points in one single game against Banvit.
