David Moss is an original Chicago’s product. He was born in the Windy City, in 1983, he attended Thornwood High Schooland has a rooting interests for all the Chicago sports teams. Nobody is more suited than him to explain Chicago, four months shy of the Euro Classic game, Olimpia will play in the United Center against Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Where he comes from – “A nice, middle-class place, kind of changing a little bit now. I grew up there, my sister grew up there. Older people were friendly, we had a block-parties, everybody coming, barbecues. Good school. It was a great time. But my favourite place in Chicago is Lake Michigan”.

Windy City – “Yeah, it’s windy but I’ve been in much colder places, where the wintertime is tougher. In Chicago, once you get used, it’s pretty easy to adjust. The nickname is a little over-exagerrated buts sometimes it’s super-cold and unbearable”.

The best player coming from Chicago? – “David Moss, Thornwood High School of course”. Moss has won four Italian league championships, three in Siena and one in Milan.

And what will happen if your Cubs will win the World Series – “It’d would pretty amazing and hopefully I’d like to be there in person. The Cubs have been so unlucky, their fans are true fans. More than 100 years since the last title and they are still selling out Wrigley Fields. Even outside the Stadium, on game days, they have a strip with restaurants and bars and they keep selling them out. For Wrigleyville it’d be an ecstatic incredible moment and so for the entire city of Chicago”.

Why fans should come to watch the Euro Classic – “They don’t need an explanation. Chicago loves basketball. We have the high school torunament, the Roundball Classic, the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, obviously the Bulls. We have in Chicago those events where fans are coming no matter who’s playing. So they don’t need an explanation but for the few of them wanting to know: it’s a high-level game between two teams with great players, great coaching staffs, solid organization. They need to come”.
