Olimpia used an 11-0 run in the closing three minutes and half to cap a great comeback and defeat Brindisi 92-87 in a largely meaningless game that just fortified its second-place and allowed Coach Ettore Messina to save many regulars (for different reasons Malcolm Delaney, Sergio Rodriguez, Shavon Shields, Kyle Hines, Trey Kell and Nicolò Melli were out). Brindisi, fighting for its playoff’s life, led by as many as 13 points in the first half and by nine early in the fourth quarter, because a miraculous shooting night with 16 threes in the first three quarters. In the last one, Olimpia’s defense stepped up, Brindisi didn’t make a single three and was held scoreless after gaining a six-point lead, 87-81. Jerian Grant, Ben Bentil and Troy Daniels scored the winning points. Daniels was particularly effective, scoring 21 points over 19 minutes, going 4-for-6 from three. Bentil had 16 points, Grant had 14 and Devon Hall added 13 points and six assists. Kaleb Tarczewski scored just four points but grabbed 11 rebounds. Olimpia closed its home regular season with a perfect 15-0 record.
