Coach Pianigiani wants to use Belgrade to show Olimpia improvements

Coach Simone Pianigiani spoke about the upcoming road trip to Belgrade. Red Star is one of three teams relegated in the standing’s second half capable to beat Olimpia but it’s the only one who did it in Milan. “We are coming off two road wins against traditionally tough teams but from an environment standpoint Belgrade is another story. Playing in Pionir is by itself a great experience. The crowd is consistently pushing its team to make the extra effort. Besides, Red Star is a very efficient team, with a solid system, is the best EuroLeague team in turning the ball over, is second in offensive rebounding. Because of its physicality and efficiency is a tough match-up for us because it will limit our opportunities to get out in open court. In Milan they took an early lead after an almost mistake-free first quarter and forced us to play catch-up. When we tied up the score, they were better at finishing the game. It’s motivating to go there and showed how much we have improved. To do that we’ll have to resist during difficult time and we’ll have to be mentally solid. It will be important for the rest of the season, in order to improve our standing and demonstrate that the core of this team is good”.
