It was a Daniel Hackett is the hero kind of game. He scored 25 points, including 17 in the last quarter and the winning shot with about two seconds left on the clock. A long two following a pump fake to beat Bayern Munich 83-81 after a terrific battle with a lot of lead changes, a lot of great plays. Bayern was playing for its own life. Olimpia had to match that intensity. Bayern started the game 6-0 and was capable to rally back every time Olimpia tried to get away. In the end it was Hackett’s heroism to win the game. Bayern’s coach Svetislav PEsic was ejected at the end of the first half when he was punished with the second technical and had to watch the rest of the game on the tv truck. Olimpia rode Joe Ragland and Alessandro Gentile inspired first quarter, then Samardo Samuels combination of skills and power, Linas Kleiza had a solid offensive game but everybody was capable to help, like David Moss who canceled Bo McCalebb for most of the game. Now Bayern is eliminated and Olimpia has still work to do but the win is a huge step towards the Top 16.
