Esteban Batista made 14 field goals, scored 28 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and was oustanding in leading Olimpia to its 14th home win of the regular season while clinching the first-place spot with one game left. Olimpia dominated most of the game, then had a letdown in terms of intensity and concentration towards the end while Cremona found its three-point shooting and came back within two. Oliver Lafayette in the closing seconds made four consecutive free throws and closed the game 81-77. “The first half was the one I expected in terms of defensive efficiency, the second half was not good, we physically and mentally didn’t perform up to our capabilities. Now it’s time to prepare for the playoffs. I’m a little worried because without Cinciarini and Gentile we struggle to develop our game plans, our intensity, we get fatigued and so we need to recover those guys. In Gentile’s case obviously it will be impossible to have him back for the post-season start”, Coach Repesa said.
