Barcelona was able to use size, defense and its aggressive approach to win 90-85 In Milan. After taking control in the third period with a 29-point outburst, Barcelona responded to several Olimpia’s attempt to comeback. Olimpia was led by Vlado Micov and a very solid Mike James’ game with 20 points and 8 assists but didn’t have from enough players and came up short. Some turnovers leading to easy scores were crucial at the end especially with Adam Hanga. “At this time they are better than us – Coach Simone Pianigiani said – in order to win we needed to do something special. Our three-point shooting was not enough to open their defensive box and we had some costly turnovers that made the difference in a very close game”.
