Coach Luca Banchi met the media after the big win over Strasbourg: “Tonight we celebrate the first half of the Euroleague regular season. We have 3 wins and 2 losses, against Real Madrid and Efes, so it’s the best we could realistically hope for our team. We’ve been able to get the big road win in Bamberg and tonight we built on that against Strasbourg. Their record is affected by the schedule because they play two home games against the powerhouses of our group. We knew it was going to be a dangerous game. They decided to establish their tempo, slowing down our offense, they always used dominant centers in the middle to clog the lanes, not only when zoning, and stay on our passing lanes to make the drive and kick difficult to execute. In the second half we opened up the floor a little bit and we created open shots especially from the corners. I believe the second half three-pointers were the key of the game along with our defensive consistency which probably was the best thing we bring home from this night”.
