A tragic shooting night, especially from three, killed Olimpia’s aspirations in Boulazac where limoges had a much better game, led by Ali Traore and with many players helping the the team with some shots, some rebounds and more poise. Olimpia played the game with determination and was defensively aggressive but couldn’t make a shot after a promising first quarter. In the second period scored just nine points, went down by nine and never got within less than seven points in the second half. It had a lot of opportunities but missed one crucial three-pointer after another and then the 2-point shooting percentages went down, too. Alessandro Gentile had another commanding game, scoring 19 points but too many guys gave too little. Charles Jenkins had an outstanding defensive game and Jamel McLean came back after a lethargic first half with a lot more energy and success in the second but it wasn’t enough. Olimpia lost 74-65 and now its Euroleague in in jeopardy.
