Olimpia’s season finished in Sassari after a hotly contested and overtime game

Olimpia’s season finished on bad note, with another overtime loss in Sassari, 108-96, after missing the opportunity to close the game out in regulations. It was an intense, well-fought game, with many comebacks by both teams and the much anticipated ending. Again, Olimpia struggled inside, couldn’t get any calls, lost Kaleb Tarczewski because of a technical foul sanctioned after he responded to Jack Cooley’s taunting under one referee’s eyes that was surprsingly ignored. Sassari went repeatedly to the line, got a lot of 50-50 calls, that’s a fact, but deservedly won the series, moving to the Italian league finals series. In the end, even Nemanja Nedovic was ejected. He scored 18 points with 5 assists, James Nunnally had 19 points, Mike James 18 and 7 assists. He was the one leading the last comeback, but he missed the last three-point attempts. It was the chance to kill the game, but was also a miss.
