An 11-0 run secured the win for Olimpia

An 11-0 run during the last three minutes turned a six-point deficit into a 74-71 win for Olimpia in a very strange game against the league leading Brescia. Olimpia simply dominated the first half playing well at both ends of the floor, led by as many as 13 points off the best sequence by Andrew Goudelock and then had a long letdown ignited by foto troubles and Brescia fouls shooting. But the defense did it in the fourth holding Brescia to 9 points in the period. Down by six, Theodore made 4 consecutive free throws, Goudelock made four more to seal the win but the crucial play was made by Davide Pascolo. Isolated one on one against Marcus Landry, Pascolo stole the ball and scored on the ensuing fastbreak. Olimpia took the lead for good. Andrea Cinciarini was also instrumental in the win with his energy and defense. “It’s great to win at the defensive end of the floor when the energy tanto was empty. The first half was impressive. I asked to my team for the first time to approach this game like a EuroLeague game and the guys responded. We just need to be more experienced to limit the damages when things are noi going out way”, Coach Pianigiani said at the end.
